I have been trying to decide on a good pair of boots in the $200 range and came across the Berik Contender boots. They have lot of replacable parts and look like they offer good protection. Does anyone have these boots or give opinions as there are no reviews about these anywhere online that I can find.

Well I did try a pair on the other day. I like the OVS Pro much better. Ricky did a good job telling this manufacturer where his old Tech 8's needed improving.
Toe area has better protection.
Sides of boots toward the back are also protected with plastic and more padding
Sole of the boot is more pliable.
Fit is nice for D width feet like mine. (I found the SG-10 too narrow)

My only issues were no bootie. But I guess this does not protect your feet too much anyway.
Buckles are a stiff rubber/plastic material. This might be a source of failure.
Odd kangaroo leather. This stuff is thick, so the boot will take some more break-in time than the Tech8.
