I threw on a new upper tripple clamp on my RM and when I did that I also loosend the lower clamp bolts to set the fork height. I have adjusted the forks so they are at the level that I want them to be but my problem (not a hug problem) is when I tighten everything up the bars are off just a bit. So I come back, loosen everything make an adjustment and then go out again and check. Of course, it's not perfect so I have to go through the whole process again.

Is there an easy way of doing this? I was thinking of finding a pane of glass and laying it accross the fork legs to ensure them being square with each other then tightening the clamps but I haven't tried it yet.

Any secrets out there or do I just do the hit and miss game until it's right?

Thanks

Bike up on stand with front wheel off ground. Loosen triple clamp bolts, pinch bolts and axle. Spin front wheel pretty hard and stop it with the brakes. Do that a couple of times and voila.
