On Sat. Nov 13th 2004,our 10 yr old son overjumped a hill out at the clayhills. When he landed he landed with the back tire hitting first causing him to crash. On the landing the handle bar lashed back and broke his femur bone. They had him in traction the first night till surgery that day.(worst night of our lives)He was in surgery for 4 hrs.The cut him up by his hip and down about 6 inches to where the brake was.He had two rods put in his bone.By Mon. he was feeling a little better. He got up in bed and stood at the side of the bed for about a min. then was so dizzy he had to get back in bed.Tues. physical therepy was wanting him up in the wheelchair for awile.Hes done so good.Better than I would of handled it.Believe it or not,Wed. we were able to bring him home.Thats when our worries began. At discharge we requested to have a copy of his xrays,We got them and was pretty much horified to see that his bones were not aligned together straight.Doc said he did that on purpose. We are going to take him to another doc for a second opinion.Anyone out there go through this before? We welcome all feedback and welcome any prayers we can get.He sure needs it right now.
