Sorry to hear that Nat. I hope you heal in time for the DYDR's Spring Ride at Paragon, which will be 12 weeks from the date of your injury.

Broken bones suck, but they're part of the game. If you haven't broken a bone you haven't explored your limits. Welcome to the club...membership renewal isn't necessary!

...so sorry; hope for a quick recovery. Are you seeing http://www.moto-md.com/easyrider.htm? I saw their trailer at last year's Piglet/Boar, and wished they were closer - they're in your neighborhood.

That's my regular doctor!! I could not get in to see him for over a week, so I had to go to the Same Day clinic for the Xrays and meds. I'll be seeing Dr. Cohen as my specialist. I met him at the Piglet Boar last year too, he's awesome.

clutchcover - where you been??? Thanks for the well wishes everyone. This morning was very trying...I don't have a lot of patience and my house is slowing turning into a dissaster area since I seemed to have let housekeeping slide this week...I miss cooking since I cannot safely weild a chef's knife. I went out to lunch with my boss yesterday but had to really think about what I ordered since Nikki and Jenny were not there to cut my food into bite size pieces :whiner:

I'm sure it will get better soon!

I visit as much as I can, but that seems to be less and less lately. Hopefully I'll get some time to start posting more.
Just saw the pic of your arm... that makes my arm hurt everytime I see it.

Natty: I saw the photo last night. Ouch! Jenny told me about the fall last night as well. It sounds a freakish as my fall at DW.

Get well, drink lots of milk, visit the Captain often and call Kiwi when you need the lawn mowed! :debil:

Even though the X-Ray technician was kind of an ass with his "trying to regain your youth?" comments

Ignore that. He's obviously an idiot. It's impossible to regain something you've never lost :thumb:.

Heal quick and get back on the bike! :aj:

BTW-Never, EVER post another picture like that again...I'm feeling queasy... :moon:

Natty get well soon! X-ray Tec’s “What a dork!” Wish I were on that side of the earth. I'd be your DBH  or chief bottle washer etc, etc. I know the pain. Did you get as little time off from work to rest up? That was one awesome pic you posted. Welcome to the club traction.

Get well soon Nat, looks like im not the only one feeling a little invalid.

bundy

I was wondering how YOU were doing, your injuries are far more extensive than mine, so you get better soon too!!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. My arm feels better every day but I have an appointment with the Ortho surgeon Tuesday (tomorrow) so we will see what he says. I seem to be getting by just fine with the sling, so I hope he does not want to cast it. The swelling and purple color are subsiding. I can now "hold" light things like a DVD, a cup of coffee, etc, but I cannot "lift" anything.

I have not missed a day of work, but my boss and I have an understanding that if I get cantankerous toward the end of the day I can go ahead and leave. The Vicodin and 800 mg Ibuprofen works best at the beginning of the day but my patience to deal with others wears thin around 2 PM so thats when I take off.

Since I'm going to have to forgo the Old Crowe HS and the Piglet, I've go my mind set on entering some other new races this year up at Honey Lake in the fall to make up for it. Not being able to ride SUCKS!!!!!

You must have seen me during self-medication happy hour at the Fireside Lounge!! PS: Any jerky is good jerky in my opinion!!

Marlin, what's a "DBH"? If a DBH can clean the litter box and load the dishwasher, you're hired!!!!!

Been there done that, a little KP never hurt anyone. As for the kitty box you might have to show me the finer points on that. As I only have doggies and kids. "DBH" Designated Bra Hooker". As alway’s get well soon and take a little more time off!

I can consider myself one of the lucky ones!! I went to see the Ortho specialist and we reviewed my X-Rays to determine next steps.

The bone is broken clean through, but amazingly, there is no splintered fragments or misalignments and therefore I will need NO PINS, NO SURGERY, NO CAST!!

:yeehaw:

Its like if you broke a crisp carrot in half and put the two ends back together. Nice clean break. The worst is over and the best news of all is that I might be able to ride in as little as 2 months :thumb: He said I had some exceptionally strong bones and it makes sense because I have had some serious spills in the past and wondered what it was going to take to break something, lol.

Doctor said not to use the arm too much for the first month of healing because the muscles in use can still pull the two mending bones apart. I will be able to raise my arm above my head and do some re-strengthening next month. For now, I just do little circle motions by leaning over at the waist and rotating my arm (Nikki taught me that one on day one!!).

ANyway, just an update. It could have been much worse and I'm thankful its not!
