would it hurt my fork tubes (01 cr125) to clean them with gasoline? I had a vforce sticker on both of my fork legs and took it off and have tried vinegar, hot water and soap and nothing seems to work. The adhesive is stuck on there pretty good..anyone know what to use without hurting the tubes? thanks

I use lacquer thinner for every thing!
Keep it away from the seals, and it'll do a number on your hands if your hands aren't tough.
Brake clean on a rag will work, carb cleaner, ahhh ok, mineral sprits work ok, emanel reducer works fair too. Gasoline, neve use it!
Keep it all the cleaners away from painted or alm. or rubber and it should be fine.
Careful of those eyes, can't race with a seeing eye dog!

I use goof-off all over my bike. If something is dirty, it gets a few shots of goof-off. It seems to work best on adhesives. I use it after I wash my bike and before applying formula 303 to the plastic.

Use eucalyptus oil. Dap some on to soften it abit. Then give it a good rub. Be careful the koalas could start chasing ya...LOL

oh my, this goof off works wonders! :ohmy: It took the stickerage right off soooo easily, then my mom used it on some gum that was stuck in the carpet and it took it right out. amazing stuff..thanks alot guys. Will it hurt the plastics? I read on the back it damages many plastics and said goof off 2 is good for plastic.
Goof Off won't hurt most of the body plastics on a bike. Always try new cleaners in a small, out of the way place first to see if it has any affect. Fenders, side panels and gas tanks are made of polypropylene and that are pretty much impervious to anything.
I buy Goof Off in the big can & I mostly use it to clean grease off the carpet that I track into the house. Don't tell my wife though. As far as she is concerned I've never tracked grease on the carpet :eek:

will goof off work good to get all the built up oil/grease around the sprocket from lube and some spooge near the header thats built up? man I just thought of that, it would work wonders. Should I use a toothbrush and rinse it off? or just a cloth like they recommend?
Goof Off will work but WD40 works just as good and it's cheaper. I always have an old tooth brush around to clean grungy grease and grime. You won't need a brush to remove adhesive. A cloth soaked in the stuff works fine.Joe_148 said:
