CR,
I have a Suzuki, (not famous for smooth clutch action) Mine grabs somewhat even when the lever is in all the way. If I adjust it so it totally freewheels, I notice some slip at full power. so I set it back to where it grabs a little when pulled in all the way.
This is not a performance problem for me. My bike is fast, and shifts with or without the clutch (just have to put some pressure on the shifter and let off for a half second) It also shifts fine under full throttle with the clutch about 1/2 way in.
I think this is the norm for stock 01's. I'm not worried about it because it suits me fine, when the time comes, I will probably replace it with the recommended vinson hines (?) clutch basket and kaw clutchplates/discs. til then I plan on getting my $'s worth out of the stock setup.
I knew they had shorty clutch levers. I haven't seen any shorty brake levers and would be interested.
