rmc_olderthandirt may have posted your answer on page 1. You got to run a plug at a temp that allows it to burn clean, if your on a long downhill pull the clutch and blip the throttle as you go. If by gutted you mean no packing, you should pack it it'll make more power, if its completely gutted throw it in the bin.
