Little problem here....

I have a 00 300exc,great bike, but I'm craving for two more strokes in my motor.
My problem #1 is choosing a bike.
Options -
My bike + $3400 for 01 520sx.. or
My bike + $3400 for 01 400 mxc.. or
My bike + $3200 for 01 vor 503.
I've been around the 520,but not the 400 or 503.
Problem #2,will I miss the 2 stroke?I know none of you can say what I will like, but for those of you that have made the switch are you still happy/would you do it again?
Any thoughts would be nice. Thanks

If it was me I woud go with the 400mxc. It is more of a do it all motorcycle. It takes some getting used to going from a 2stroke to a 4stroke, I switched 10 yeas ago and now I have trouble riding a 2 stroke. The 400 doesn't have as much boost as the 520, but it is less tiring to ride for long distances, it is not slow. Just enough power to thrill you, not kill you. The 400mxc is the bike I am seriously considering for my next ride.

If you ride a KTM 4 stroke , you will kiss (or kick) your 2 stroke out.
I will be waiting for the '02 model to come out before I buy.........it's gonna be a long 4 months!!

I have had my VOR since Nov of 99, been a very dependable bike. No $30 oil filters to change. High Tech engine, Gear driven Camshaft, Some high tech material on the valves that Ferrari Developed (claim's that the valve's wont need much adjusting) you will love the power. They also make a 400 Model. Easyist starting bike i have owned.
About the same weight as the KTM, But no Electric start. No regrets on going four stroke

If I were you Get a test ride on the bike's before you buy. Good luck I think any of your choice's would be a GREAT bike.

FWIW, im going the other way:

From 4S to 2S...4S low maintance ? actually modern 4S are almost as expensive as 2S...and just wait till you need to rebuild the top end...and im not only talking about rings and piston.

I've got a Husaberg FE 501 and it's almost 2 stroke weight, plus it likes to rev like a 2 stroke. My only problem is I've broken my left foot 3 times, so the left kicker is sort of a pain to me.

Actually I'm looking to trade it for a KTM or a KDX220 possibly.

how can a 400 be easier to ride than a 520 when they weigh the same????
I just dont open up the throttle when I want to go slower.

Went with the 520sx.Its everything I hoped it would be.My biggest fear going to 4 stroke was that the snap would be gone, not so.The 520 has it all.Very easy to start.I would say to anybody thinking of changing to go for it...it is the future.

I also think you made a great choice. There's no magic button on the SX, though.
