I've been slammed with Spy-ware and Adware the last couple of days. Last night I left IE open on DRN (DSL connection), I hit a refresh around 2am and got pop-ups galore, porn and other crap. Did a system RESTORE and updated McAfee and Stinger. Seems to be working now.

FruDaddy said:They are correct, if you are connecting throught the modem on another machine, the modem is likely not the problem. Try taking a look at your TCP/IP settings.
Go to the control panel and choose network settings, then choose local area connection. Chick the properties button. On the general tab, find Internet protocol (TCP/IP) and make sure it's checked, select it then click the properties button. MAke sure that both Obtain an IP address automatically and obtain DNS servers automatically are selected.
