how bad is a crack on...

i just started to ride my pre owned cr250.
when i bought it i never noticed i had a crack, back rim :whoa:
and i was wondering, its vary small crack and its only cracked on one side. its about 3 cm long

how long do u think i can ride on it, im not a racer and i jsut ride to have fun. i know its dumb to but with my car not working i need to spend the money on it. :coocoo:

i dont want to by a hole new accembly, is there a place i can go that well take my old rim off and reajust the spokes to fit another rim?
if so that woudl be great

Rims run from $100 to around $170 and any shop should be able to lace in a new rim for you. I would not ride it as 3 Cm is a long crack nor would i weld it unless the entire rim can be re heat treated to the proper temper. the heat treatment alone would likely be more $$$ then a new rim

You do not know where you live, so how can we tell you where to go? You can get a rim cheap off the internet or fleabay, maybe even a complete assembly. Cutting your old hub off and getting new spokes nipples and rim is not that big of a deal. If you take good pics before you cut it up. Just a little time consuming the first time.

fleabay just had alot of new front and rear wheel packages that where take offs.mostly off crf's but would still fit cr's cheap prices to. came with everthing. check em out.
