Hi, I'm a little new to dirt bikes. I was just wondering about how fast would a 4 stroke 125 and 150 go and about how fast would a 2 stroke 80 and 125 go. Thanks a lot guys.
I'm pretty sure their max speed is between 55-65. Only difference is the time it takes to get to that speed.
You live in hawaii.. you wont even be able to use the top speed on the dirtbike without getting a ticket there! ahah I know about your ridiculous speed limits over there! I've been there.. =P
The 2 strokers will be much faster once you step up to the purple powerbands but if you can find a carbon fiber powerband for the 4stroke nothing will come close to them
Yeah but assuming I have installed the purple powerband, a shorty silencer, helium in my front tire, and I am running race gas mixed at 32.5:1 with synthetic vegetable oil - how long will I be able to do a wheelie on my 250?
C'mon, Noa and Bet on Red, why does it really matter? Speed limits don't matter since it is a DIRT BIKE anyway, and besides, how would we know? Most bikes don't come equipped with a speedometer.
You should be much more worried about size, weight, handling, and power characteristics than top speed. Can you ride either bike to the utmost of its ability? If you're asking that question, I bet the answer is no. Get the one that suits you even if it is the slower one.
But, as I am sure you already know, a two stroke 80 will run circles around a four stroke 125 or 150. I used to work for BBR and even our tricked out big bore 125s with the cam, big carb, air filter mod, etc. will lose to an 80 every time.
Originally posted by Bet On Red I took my 4 stroke out on the street and hauled @$$ passed a speed check point. It flashed 45 right before i passed it :)
That was a great idea. What were you thinking? People already think that dirt bikes are dangerous and loud, and their riders are crazy and out of control. You just convinced a whole lot more that we are. :|
Sorry if this is a "meaningless" thread. I've already made up my mind on which bike to get, I was just curious about the speeds of them. Thanks for the help.
