I disagree. Ask Mike Brown, and Grant Langston about luck and Championships:D If you don't call that luck. I would like to hear what luck is:confused:

RC is to racing as TP is to PR for the public. If RC left Kawasaki because there was a dispute or something, then I could come to better terms with him going to Honda when he did. But since that wasn't the case, I am forced to agree with the untold number of fans who boo'd him at the Open - and all for the same reason I presume. I did see a spark in MC that hasn't been there in a long time. And that my friend was racing. I was on the edge watching him come from last place first turns. And a heat win for Larocket - whoohoo!

For all of you that think TP is a natural with the PR stuff, here is a little trivia tidbit for you, Suzuki has made him attend PR classes since he was very young. I have never heard one MX racer, MC RC, etc other than TP express themselves well. They all sound like buffoons to me when they are on the podium and seem to talk in circles. Stop bashing them for this, I don't think they can help it.

God, get off the Honda-Kawi sell out crap! Yes, Kawi 'raised' him and he has numerous title w/them. But this is a BUSINESS! What he did was make a business decision, in his best interest. Yes, he should have some loyalty for Kawi after all these years, but that goes both ways. When they found out about the offer from Honda, they should thought about loyalty also. And if any of you think this is crap, put yourself in the same position. If you're in a good job that you really enjoy, that has treated you very well over the years, and then you get a bett offer from another company. Now what if this company turns out to be something that really appeals to you, w/out even considering the money aspect? Can any of you, in COMPLETE honesty, tell me that you wouldn't go to the new company if your present employer wouldn't try to match the new offer?:think

I have a little inside info...Kawi matched the offer! I don't care either way but Ricky was looking to leave kawi and Honda offered, Kawi matched but the bridge was already burning. What is amazing is Caqrmicheal accepted the position at Honda before Honda hired a manager!

Okay, I stand corrected, IF your info is right. In this light it does come down to a loyalty issue, and maybe an issue that he was unhappy where he was at or that maybe he just like the 'Honda Package'. We'll probably never know. But for the most part, my statement still stands b/c almost everyone bashing RC were doing so w/out ruck's info.

As I said, I don't care either way. I do think it keeps the rivalry going and thats is what some of racing is anyway! I like it when people have opinions even when there different(well, maybe I don't like it when there different then mine:eek: ).
My info comes from a former Kawi rider who retired a while back who is still an influence on the sport.

Dejavu (sp?)... Haven't I seen this thread somewhere before. ;)

My opinion... I choose to root for a rider based on skill. LaRocco is my favorite rider. Has nothing to do with 'on camera polish', color of the bike, or sponsorship. Just plain old skill and determination.

RC changing camps has not changed my opinion of him. He is still taking care of business on the track and that's what is important.

Dajavu again... haven't I made that statement before. :)

One thing I never see people thinking about is even if you are faster then someone it doesn’t mean you are better. Yes RC is faster then MC but I really don’t think he is as good. MC rides very smoothly and makes it look easy. When I watch MC ride I think to myself “man I wish I were that good”. When I see RC ride I think “whoa he is nuts!” I don’t think RC has very long left to be winning. As soon as Windham gets his speed up he will knock RC off the top spot for sure. So in re-cap: Yes RC is fast, faster then anyone out there. But he not the best, not by a long shot.

So how many more titles does RC have to win before you think he's the best one out there?

It’s more then titles, he has to be a positive figure for the sport. When he is beaten and if he comes back stronger then ever I will acknowledge that he is the best.

So what your saying is eventually there won't be a best out there.

I'd like to see the 500s come back to XRP but what are the chances of that?

You guys have too much time to waste :p you should read the RC interview on the transworldmx.com. But it's like 1 billionth interview on RC about his move. Man nobody ever made this much of a deal about things when like ricky johnson went to honda then won all those titles.

RC is a racer. He is not an elected official.Dont get me wrong,I dont think he should stand on the podium with a beer and a cigarette while spitting on the camera.Just that he doesnt have to be all grins and happy to meet thousands of peaple if he doesnt want to.

i totally agree. i read in an interview of RC, and they talked about his switch to honda. one thing RC mentioned was that he was surprised that Kawasaki didnt even make any sort of offer to keep him. i think the switch will just make RC twice as fast as he ever was on kawasaki.

hey you should read this. its from the twmx interview.

TWMX: Did you have any offers from any other factories?

Ricky: No I didn't. No one else made me an actual offer, but everyone was talking to me. It didn't really matter, because I had already made up my mind with what I was going to do.

TWMX: I had heard that Kawasaki didn't even make a counter offer to keep you. Is that true?

Ricky: They didn't. I was disappointed by that. I thought they have been a little more aggressive, but they weren't. I couldn't believe that they didn't. If I was in their shoes, I would have at least showed some interest. They're kind of that way, though.
