i have an older ktm 250 motor

i have an older ktm 250 motor and i am trying to find a cdi box for and i am also trying to find out what year and model # it is . my local shop says they cant help me unless i have the bike vin . i only bought the motor . it says it is a digital control and has a powervalve . i would appreciate the help !
