What YZ do I have?

Hi people,
I just bought a barn find and the guy I bought it from had no idea what year or displacement this YZ is.
He claims it to be a yz 250 but the jug looked too big for that.
All I can give you to help me is the Vin # ... 2X8-005535.
I tried a couple sites to see what it was but was unsucessful.

nevermind, unless someone finds something different IT WOULD BE A 78 YZ 400. i put the wrong vin # in. It starts with 2 K 8

you are right the 2K8 is a '78 YZ400.

A 2X8 would have been a '79 IT400.
