There this pro freestyler(Rick Hedle) in my neck of the wood, and he says he'd rather jump a thumper. I dont know why though???:think. He freestyles with a YZ426.

Tony KX,
I too have a wr400 and use it for motorcross and trails. When riding in third were you at the bottem of the RPM range. I found that moving to a 51 rear helped to bring me into the power and I use 3rd exclusivly, you may even want to try a 52 if the track is set up more like supercross. Good Luck.

I usaully ride MX at Moisier Valley and I have no problem with it,but month ago me and my kids went to check MX track at some little town east of St.Joe
call Nacona. It small track so it set up like suppercross style but not quite. It is not hard but my timing was not good enough for this stuff ,but if I used my Kx 250 ,I did it just fine.Been riden thumper quite sometime but never took to do a MX.
