Kawasaki kmx, kdx 200

Hi !
Am a newbie to dirt bikes and was recently given a Kawasaki dirt bike that had been in storage for a while.

I don't know if its a kdx or kmx or if its a 200 or 125? It has no paperwork or registration. From the pictures i've seen on the net, it looks like a street legal Kawasaki kdx. How can I find out its model and cc?

It also has a myriad of problems. A hard start, overflow on repetitive attempts to kick start it. No speed, power thru all the gears, labors to get acceleration and I have to constantly down shift or Max out the throttle to get moving.

Cleaned it as best as I could, replaced all fluids, break pads, air filter, spark plug, cleaned out the tank, and more.

Can any one help me sort these out?

Of hand, it sound like it suffers from low compression.

Post up the frame number and we can tell you what it is, or run the number at kawasaki.com. You should find the number stamped into the steering stem.

yeah, nothing on that VIN. Perhaps you have a typo in there or misread it? A picture is worth a thousand words as well....

I believe that to be your engine vin and not the frame vin. I also think it is a KDX250.
