going with silver I hope.. looks so much nicer

Looks like that will be the case... thinking that Kawasaki green may be more expense as it not one of the standard colors.

Outstanding job, on both the build and the documentation of the steps. This has been a really fun thread to follow.

If you are taking it to a powdercoater, "silverdillo" is as close to the Kawasaki silver as any of the silvers offered. I did my '01 KX500 frame that color and it looked identical to my '04 stock frame.

Just got my head and carb back from Ron Black.....

Truly a nice guy and does one heck of a job on his machine work! I noticed that the carb I sent had a slight off-center bore and when it returned Ron had not only bored the carb, but corrected the factory machine work in centering the bore! In speaking with Ron it was apparent that he is all about a first class job!

Wow !!

That's some juicy parts you have there Sir.

The Ron Black treatment along with the other goodies ought to make for one hell of a hybid !

Great documentation too.......please keep it up.

Back on the project....

Finished up the frame welded the case saver hoops from the KDX frame and now she's sitting at the powder coaters for a nice coat of silver....

So with the frame gone.... it's time to get some other things ready. I decided that I would go to a 18" rear and settled on some black Excel's with ProWheel stainless spokes on stock hubs.

I'm guessing it's said HARD ROCKING

That’s it..... it's from my rock crawling jeeping days, when we spent many a summer crawling on the high sierra granite. So I kept the personalized plates, which now reside on my 1969 Ford Crew Cab Cummins project... a Yahoo or Google search will come up with some build threads on that one!

Picked up the frame from the powder coater today and was able to get a little assembly done before work. The down side (besides work) was that in my rush to get the frame to powder (before taking off to Disneyland), I completely forgot about the sub-frame.

I'm not a kdx guy, but this is looking like an all around killer. I think you could run this from the mx track to the tightest single trail and feel just as comfortable on either. Great build, my friend! I really wish I had your shop, machines, and knowledge. Maybe one day!
