have a 1988 kx125 wasnt sparking cleaned off the coil and all that made sure everything was grounding and connecting good. then took the magneto cover off and kicked it and it sparked. so i put the cover back on ,put the plug in the head and it wouldnt run. took the plug back out and no spark. took the magneto cover back off and there is gas leaking through the crank seal. is gas getting in there and messing with the stator and the magneto and causing it not to spark?

most likely, i had a similar thing happen to a 68 maico250 except for the seal, gas got into the breaker points and caused them to foul. your breaker points may be fouled ( or does the kx even use breakers) any way you need to repair the leaking crank seal first because worse case sinereo is that it does fire up and gas starts pouring into the breaker cover and the spark caused by breaker points sets your bike onfire. sounds crazy but weirder things have happened to people. get that fixed first, a seal is only like 10 bucks
