LBL Turkey Bay, Spring ride April 18-20

FYI-I think Al and I are going to be in for Saturday night only. Our plan is to be there at zero-dark-thirty in the AM, and ride Sat, stay the night, ride till noon or so on Sunday, and then head out. I don't have any vacation days left or I would be there Friday, too! As for sleeping, count us in for the cabin Saturday night, but I will be bringing the bed roll so I can just crash on the floor, or in the truck. Wherever is fine with me! :thumb:

Footnote-If Al wusses out on me, we won't be coming. He says it's on, but he waffles sometimes... :p

I just made reservations in the Moors Lodge.
For those who care, $70 a night for 2 people, A hotel type room with 2 queen beds.
They have 12 rooms like this left.

FYI Aimee and Leah are both in for the trip so that puts 2 more in the big cabin that Mike reserved already. FULL UP TO THE BRIM...

Moor :laugh: cabins are available if anyone wants to take the bull by the horns and get another biggun for the late comers!

Wendy & I will be camping out in with our friends from Nashville who will be meeting us there.  Corey - Same people you met at Thanksgiving.

I might be able to make this ride... if so, it will be my first time meeting/riding with anyone from DRN! Spring break starts the 18th so I should be free. Since I'm low on $$ I'll probably just sleep in the camping area in a tent or the bed of my truck.

I ride MX (well, on a practice track...) and haven't been trail riding in over three years (back on an 80)! So it would be cool to do some trails again too. Since it's pretty open, my KX250 set up for MX should be fine, right??

I'll see if I can make it, sounds like a blast!

You guys are starting to scare me here. I got $460 down on a cabin that I was planning on yall sharing the rent. :scream:

Slight change of plans on the cabin. When this thing started filling up FAST I told Moors that if cabin #32 or 33 came open I wanted to upgrade. Well she told me yesterday we are in cabin#32 now. The good news is it is MUCH newer, (2 yrs old versus 15+ yrs old) MUCH bigger, and will sleep 12 or so no problem. #14 said it also slept 10 but that was 2 grown folks to a double bed. This one has 5 queen beds 1 sofa sleeper and another couch.  It is also right behind the restaurant instead of 150 yds away. The bad news is it is $30 more a night. No big deal it will be another $10 a head. (Well that is if no one else backs out!)

Oh Yeah, Last year we rode 1/2 the day on Friday. Hopefully that will be the plans again this year. We planon getting to the cabin around 12 or 1 and then ride from 2 til dark.  After that it will be frog legs and beer :thumb:

Since we talked about this at Eddie's, I'll throw it out here.  Would it be worth while to consider riding at Linton on Friday and hitting Turkey Bay on Saturday?  Linton is about 30 minutes from Turkey Bay.  Not quite as hilly or rocky.  But a fun area to ride.  There is a harescramble held at Linton on the Midsouth series.  If we can get Yamahauler to lead us at Linton, we could have a blast.  I've only been to Linton 2 or 3 times.  Anyone up for it, or will it just cause confusion trying to split up days?

Sounds like fun - but i have a hard enough time keeping track of Wendy when we're at just one place!

I may concider it if we make it down Thursday night - otherwise i'll stick to Turkey Bay.
