Anybody going to be in the Kalkaska area riding this weekend? Don Marsh, your klan going to be out this weekend? I will be at Log Lake all weekend for the wife's family reunoins. I could get out Saturday or Sunday Morning. My plan now is to just dual sport right out of the camp ground.

My daughter and I will be at the CCC kids ride at Leetsville as well. We'll be camping on site. I'll be in a 35 foot fireside TT with a big green Dodge diesel and have an xr100 and a pink CRF50 parked outside. Stop by and say hi.

I didn't think to check CCC calendar. Looks like they start at 8:00am. The map says 25 miles. I have never rode that trail system but I would think less then an 1.5 hours to get around it. Do they run the trail counter clock wise. I really don't want to come around a corner and peel a kid. I think I'll just do like a 6:30 early morning run then. I'll be on a CRF450R #721, so if you see me rapped around a tree, just bring the wreckage back to Log Lake campground. Looking at the weather forecast, it should be a dust bowl.

You should be able to run Leetsville a bit quicker than that, Joe.

I might be game for an early ride there, or Frederic

Joe, let me see what the weekend plans are and I will let you know. It would have to be early AM. I would stay away from the whooped out expressway otherwise known as Leetsville.

I agree. I rode parts of Leetsville last Tuesday. Was not impressed. Doubt I will be back there anytime soon.

You may have Woodsy The Hoot, but what other trail ride includes Skippy The Clown?

Come to think of it, I've never seen Don AND Skippy together at the same time.... hmmmm

I have to ride it now. Looking at the weather, I think I will just do an early morning MX assault on Leetsville Saturday morning. It will most likely be too dusty to ride in a group. And I don't want to leave the wife at camp with the kids for too long. By the way Don, I did get my bike plated so I can try one of your Enduros this year.

I'd recommend the Jack pine July16th. It will be fun, not real long and of the 3 remaining enduros in Michigan this summer it will be the easiest. The Other 2 are nationals and much tougher although I heard from Nick Z that Marquette this year will take it easier on the B and C riders so that should be fun but still more technical.

Joe, how about riding the Fife Lake or TC loop at 8:00 AM Sat?

Bill, the reason you don't see me & Skippy together is that I have - Coulrophobia [fear of clowns]. Although I have been known to ride with quite a few of them at times!!!!!!!!! :) :yikes:

I'm game, can I catch a ride with you? I could ride up to Marsh Industries and meet you there. Just give a time. I wake up about 6:00 in the morning everyday, so early is not a problem. I don't have the spiked tires on the bike so you should be safe.

you going to pick me up at your shop or the campground? 616-638-2784 is my cell if something changes. I'll be heading up there after work Friday. It is really dry here, how bad is it up that way?

It really doen't matter, I will have to come to town either way, so the campground would probably be easier for you. We got some rain on Monday. The Fife Lake loop would have less dust but it is short, 9 miles, but we ride it out & back for a quick run. I don't know how much time you have. You can give me a call cell-231-590-1139

I should try to be back about 1:00. I'll just push my stuff out by the pavilons and be ready for ya at 7:30. That way you don't have to try to turn around in there. Where ever you want to go is fine with me. I'm plated, cycle endorsement and everything.

I would like to thank Don Marsh for an exellant time Saturday. It did cost me my wallet, truck and kid duty for about 2 hours for getting back late. Good thing Kalkaska is not a shopping mecca or it could have been worse. I am going to try to get back up there Saturday night for the Jackpine but looks like about 50/50 of pulling that off right now. Went for a quick Leetsville run Sunday evening. Whoops? I rode the whole loop looking for whoops and all I found was fresh groom. Pretty boring ride. Only took 45 minutes to ride the whole thing from camp. Man I bet it was dusty for the kids ride.

Anytime Joe it was a great ride. :ride:
Sorry about the additional costs involved, that is why I have got to keep finding new riding friends, the mere mention of my name to their wife brings an automatic NO WAY! :yikes:
