Works for me. DRN is a privelage, not a right. I think us STM's know that.

LOL Does CanadianRidr have to write a hundred time on the blackboard, "I will not troll, I will not troll. . ."?

I was wondering about trolling as well ...
I agree that this is our site and we need to police our little part of it. There are many corners I have yet to explore.

This site has become so vast, with so much activity happening in all the different forums, it is a wonder that 'El Jefe' and the mods can keep up with it all. Hopefully this new feature will take some of the burden off of them.

Okie,
I think there needs to be a catagory for "Bad Information"
I just saw a doosey today, and I would never use this function without first seeing if the poster had mis-typed, mis-thought, or wanted to rethink his information. But, when someone sticks to bad info that blatently stinks...I think points are in order.
I do think that if we point a man for bad info we need to back up the flame with the proper information.
I don't mean this to include opinion, but rather hardcopy facts and math type stuffs.

Jaybird, if it's truly bad advise call the person on it. Maybe you can explain without people calling you a "meany" or whatnot. But if I read bad advise ill call it out.....

I noticed if you click on the 18k + member count there have been 5 banned by warnings already. Is this due to LSTMS going power mad???

I just used my newly obtained power for the first time. Spam in the off-topic forum. The Tony Hawk thread. Even though I agree with him that it will probably be awesome, no free ads.

Lou,
Maybe I'm off base here, but spam would be if the poster was involved with the promoter or somehow connected with the event wouldn't it?
I dunno...we often post sites to give members info on events and things.

I actually feel very uncomfortable using this new option in fear that I may end up looking sillier than the person I point. (shrug)
I think that I will REALLY feel the need to do this before I actually warn posters. Maybe we should delve a little deeper into the thread before we get too warn happy.
Just my 2 pence.

Lou I think that guy is just talking about that new show coming up? I don't think he as anything to do with it but I could be wrong.

That tour is like a mild x games so that's why I see nothing wrong with it :thumb:

Surely by now you don't think people calling me a meany bothers me?
I'm really not a mean person, so they can call me what they want!

Well, there isn't anything for sale in his link, but you do have to "register" to win some free stuff. And, the first day, first post, etc had me a little suspicious. I did mention to him that even though I did agree with him that this would be an awesome event, he couldn't advertise here for free. The reason I thought it was spam? Very articulate with the spelling and punctuation, etc. Much better than the usual teenager who is all excited and in a hormonal rage about the latest FMX/BMX/Skate thing. I dunno, it may not be the only stupid thing I do today! I didn't lambaste the guy, I just told him how it looked. I am stinking drunk with power, I tell ya! ;)

Lou, I was going to say something to him(I must be slipping :) ) but after seeing your warning I renegged. You were polite yet the "rap on the knuckles" was needed. And you are spot on about spelling and punctuation, I don't think it was your run of the mill teen posting for the first time ;)
