I rode in the Moose and it was my first enduro .Well tried the Tree Topper but only made it 5 mi and had a dnf.My newbie opinion of the event is the trail for the "C" riders was tough but very much rideable .The moon rocks I found very tough but I did manage to get through them. For me I think they were hard because it was a type of terrain I had never riden before. The course was very well layed out and arrowed.I had great time and feel a great sense of acomplishment for finishing the Moose my first try. Thanks

MaGoo, we'll have more time to talk on the ride to Harrison. Even though I am a Sandstormer, my only particaption this year was racing. As a racer: arrows ; resets ; mileage(even though I DNF) : Terrian and difficulty  Starting on row 45 I'm sure helped me with reading the trail. The new stuff caught me by surprise and was very fun. From what I hear, I missed the new trail after the "AA" do to the flat. Maybe next Thursday. You guys did a hell of a job. I'll be helping next year and plan to finish my section! So if you are one of the individuals that does not like technical riding, pick yourself up a trails bike and start practicing for next year. MaGoo, better order some orange paint, there's lots of rock in Walt's sectin. :p
I think both you and Nick deserve a pat on the back.

Sandstormers & AMA - For several years your event and Vintage Days have been the same weekend, middle of July. So this year both moved to the last weekend, which was also the Nationals at Loretta Lynns. Who is missing what? I'm not the only one that has to make the choice of which event to attend.

Chasing the Moose

I thought the 2006 Moose was a great event. If it wasn’t for the slippery first section from the heavy dust conrol that was put down right before the start, the entire event awesome  . It was very well laid out, was challenging, and had a good variety of terrain and was arrowed superbly. Last year the Moose was my first ever try at an enduro and I only made it thru the first section. From then on I had decided that I was going to finish this year.

The Moose is probably going to be my last event this year because my wife is due in a few weeks and I can’t be missing that out on the trail. That is if I want to be riding next year. So finishing the Moose this year and taking 1st in C-senior felt pretty good. Might try to make the Goshen two day just because I know I’ll be itching to ride another event by then before the snow flies. So to all friends, good luck on the rest of the events this year and hopefully I will see some of you around. If not see you next year.
