hey thought i'd throw in a few words about my bike and what i've done to it
AS the title says its a 99 yz125 , when i bought it i knew f*** all about dirtbikes and took a mate with me to suss it out , ended up buying it and have done a fair bit to it since then . Off the bat it had:
a snapped clutch lever and wrong clutch perch,]
gear lever shaft was stripped ,
kick started bolt was snapped ,
chain guide block and rollers were rooted/missing,
front forks were leaking,
tank was leaking due to a stripped nut holder,
fuel tap wasn't closing properly
had a pitbike left foot peg and a bent right foot peg
both brake discs are warped and rubbing
and both radiator shrouds were rooted
and the front and rear wheel bearings were rooted.
But yet 95% of this was only noticed after a few weeks. since then i have:
Done a top end rebuild( lost compression after a few weeks of owning it) with a wiseco piston and cometic gaskets
Serviced the forks
replaced the gear lever with a steel unit and had it migged on :P
replaced the seat cover with a gripper seat cover
replaced the clutch perch and lever with a the proper forged unit
replaced the foot pegs
replaced the wheel bearings
fixed the fuel tap( no spring inside it)
replaced the grips with blue half waffle scott grips
put on a bar pad
replaced both tyres
regreased and tightened the head set
replaced the chain guide block and rollers
and now im waiting on
new radiator shrouds
new graphics kit
fork skins
new swingarm/linkage suspension bearings
brake rotors and pads
front and rear fenders(black)
in the end it has been a absolute money pit but i have learnt to do a lot and at least i know that i have the piece of mind that everything will soon be perfect :P
ill upload a few pics when i get my camera back
