I am trying to get spark back on my neice's 1985 RM80F. Bike was cutting out while riding and eventually lost all spark. I replaced the stator. The newer stator ohms are:

black/red to red/white - 80
red/white to black/white - 500 seems high resistance?

The coil ohms out black/white to lead - 7

Does anyone know correct ohm ranges?

I seem to lose spark at the coil. I disconnected the white/blue wire going from the cdi to the coil. Using a dc volt meter and while kicking over I notice some current coming out of cdi on this wire. However when I connect it to the cdi there is no current deteted at the spark plug end or at the connection point, why is this?

I would really appreciate your help,
Chris

Still at it with this thing. I can get 5 volts AC from the stator while kicking over (unplugged from cdi), but nothing detected coming out of cdi(after plugging in), or coil, and no spark w/plug. Would popping it down a hill get more juice going?

Can someone tell me if 5 volts is enough from stator?

Is 500 ohms too high for 82-85 rm80?

Help,
