I will pick up my new 2003 KX-500 on Friday.  :yeehaw: I had a 1990 so the bike is familiar to me.  I would appreciate any input from current riders on jetting, gearing and accessories.  I intend to ride mainly woods with it.  Nothing quite like having your ass strapped to a 65HP 220lb green missile.

Yeah, I'm jealous too. I'm suffering along with an '89. (Like anyone on a 500 suffers. )

I run a 52 pilot. The bike now idles. Sometimes for quite a while.

When I bought it it had an 11 oz flywheel weight and an FMF Burly pipe to take away some hit. Never rode another one, so I can't comment on their effectiveness.

Right now the gearing is stock. But I'll drop down a tooth on the front for better 'real slow' woods riding w/my 6 yr old apprentice.

I don't know about the Kawi's, but a CR500AF is super easy to ride on a MX track. Think four stroke with magnum hit, lower CG and less weight. What's not to like?
