Thought i would help get this forum going. :) Does anyone know some websites about trials? Mostly looking for different bikes, pricing, comparisons, etc. You get, new bike shopping. I loved Patman's bike at Dirtweek. Thanks for letting everyone get a taste of it. I use to be into BMX freestyle on ramps and doing flat land tricks. Trials seems to be the closest thing to it but with a motor. So anyone got any info?

My home connection is too painfully slow but this should keep you occupied for a little bit. Click me baby
I'll get some of the better one's on DRN's links page soon. Trials Competition is a monthly newspaper type periodical that has some good stuff in it but is kinda' light. I burn through mine in one evening and then several more times for the enjoyment.

Believe it or not I have not found a DRN-like forums site. Maybe this will be the start of something reall cool.

LWilson250, yes Tex knows Gary very well, as a matter of fact that's who introduced me to Gary. Tex is gone for the weekend to compete in the Centerville trial rounds on Saturday and Sunday with Gary and several other HATT riders. I doubt you could find a better crew to hook up with to learn how it's done.:)

Oh thats right, I forgot about the trials this weekend. Well as soon as my dad and I sell this radar unit for a boat we will be buying a trials bike. Gary let me test ride a Montesa and got me sooo hooked! I go to meet him about getting a Clice jacket and I end up wanting a bike! Oh well, thats how it goes. And Patman, you can just call me Lee.

Lee -

Do I have you confused with someone else or do you have an XR250 also? Did we trade emails about rebuilding it a few months back?

How old are you, do you drive, and how do you get your bikes around? Gary lives up in Tomball BTW as well as a few other HATT riders. Most of the time we ride at a place called The Dip near 34th Street and TC Jester. The next most popular place is Rio Bravo the MX track - we pay half price ($5) and just ride in some flood areas off the side of the bayou that borders the property.

Right now we are in the middle of the season so if we're not at an event we'll be riding on the weekend locally at one of these places. The weekends for the last 5 weeks have been either working on our trial at Centerville (just got home from it) or riding Rounds 1 and 2 at Muenster.

There are a few good bikes available in the area - how much do you want to spend? I can keep an eye open for ya. Gary knows about every bike available within about a 5 hour drive as well.

Later, Leo.

Tex, That was I. We talked about installing a 280 kit in my XR. I sold the XR about 3 weeks ago and got a 1998 KX250 from Herb Fish. I am 16 but no driver’s license. As soon as my parents fix my truck I’ll get my license but for right now I am just using my permit. I live in Cypress, off of Huffmiester and Cypress North Houston. As for how much I have to spend on a trials bike, that depends on how much we sell this Ratheon radar for. I hope to get about $3000 for it.

Do you want to go riding sometime? I would love to hit the trails with some new people. I don’t have a spark arrestor just yet, so I can’t ride in the National Forest. Also, do you ride any of the hare scrambles or enduros around here? I am thinking about going to the Sidewinders enduro on the 17th. Well if you want to go riding, just drop me an email.
