I'm replacing the piston in my sons kx65 with a Wiseco piston.

I lost the clip on one side while trying to install it.

Any advice on where to get one or a substitute would be appreciated.

You can get replacement clips from whoever you got the piston from. Make sure you only use a wiseco clip. some different brand pistons have slight differences in the clip thickness and can pop out of the groove and give you a bad day.

thanks

yes. i will probably just contact wiseco for the clip and yes it may have gone down past the con rod & crank. i can't find it any where so i will probably split it to make sure. i had a rag over the crank but can't find the clip anywhere and i didn't hear it hit the concrete. i cant hear any scraping on the crank but the clip is so small it could just be laying on the bottom of the crankcase.

good idea! i'm so used to having bad luck w/this bike i just assumed I'd have to split it!

you might have to split it, but never overlook the easy & obvious fixes before going for the big stuff.
