I am a die hard 2-stroker, If thinking if i ever live in an area that i have to cross country to get to work. (Like Brittish Columbia). I'm thinkin i would buy one of those multi-strokers. otherwise I am going to have to pass..
Thanks anyways..

One of each of the two wheel type.  I have a variety of two stroke and four stroke engines.

My 1st was a small 2. Then a 4. Then an mx 2. Wowie Zowie The love of 2 strokes will never Die. I don't mean any discredit to 4 stroke lovers. They each have their beauties. I just like the lighter weight and zip of a 2.  I don't care about power to the ground, I like the hit!!!!!!!!

I gotta stop there because I have a certain amount of respect for most people I know that go offroad in any form.

Enjoy Your Machines!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

The smooth delivery of power a 4 stroke provides is on top.But there is always that need 2 feel & hear that Burst provided by 2strokes ,it's just in the BLOOD!

I have 4 4-strokes in the garage.

02 XT225 dual-sport
02 XT70
03 CRF450
03 TTR125LE

might say we caught the bike bug - errr, rekindled from my youth...

as for the TTR125LE - GREAT bike - my wife's first bike but even I will ride it some (when my wife is working...) Is a little short for my 5'11" and have to watch air/bumps as I weigh 175-lbs but is cool for just mindless crusing tight trails with my son. torque is great, that little bike will crawl up almost anything - Yamaha built a great bike in that one. the TTR is only slightly shorter than the XT225 but MUCH lighter and narrow. oh, my wife says "love the button" everytime I have to kick over the CRF.

I race a 2stroke and used to race a 4stroke(xr250r) the only difference is how you ride, they both can haul if you like the way they feel. want fun race a xr250r in a250!

I ride an XR250, 4 stroke power is pretty cool. I think I would prefer 2 stroke power over the 4 stroke it brings out the bad boy in me. If you can afford it, it would be great to own both of course and they both have their highs.

After riding 4 strokes for a few years, I went back to a 2 stroke. I'm not going back to a 4 stroke until I can't ride a 2 stroke anymore.

Y2Z, I thought so too, but I think it's because there's more hype and talk around 4 strokes right now. There's sure to be a lot more R&D dollars devoted to 4 strokes at the Japanese big 4.

4 stroke all the way, XR400, hopefully a CRF450 next or when it comes out the CRF450X, maybe a KTM450EXC, if the 450X doesn't come out when I'm ready for the new bike.

I currently own a 02rm125 and after a quick ride on a03yz250f i may convert! Also watching lasts night ARENACROSS in albany proved 4 stroke's are the future. The 125 main should have been called the 250f class instead, I counted 3 yes 3 2stroke's in the field. The orange bikes were the only smoker's basically! The only competition the 4 stroke's had was getting them re-started after a crashor stalling(i watched several guys kick for minute's trying to get going again)!

I started riding on a DRZ400S...and have since bought 2 Two Strokes (200EXC and KX250).....and never ride the 400S except to work....I know a DRZ is not a 450, but I've ridden my friends YZFs/CRFs and they just don't do it for me....I prefer the hit & power now vs. the 70mph down a long stretch....on the flip side, green sticker and street legal make for good dual sport riding...buy both if you can and you'll have the best of both worlds...as long as I'm riding something, who cares 2s vs. 4s....

i have one of each (a good 2 stroke, and a wimpy 4-stroke), and i could honestly ride any good bike. i love the ktm 4 strokes i've ridden, and i loved the crf450 that i rode briefly. mostly i just love riding my bike in the woods. what kind of noise it makes and how the power hits are not that important to me as long as the bike is quiet, reliable, and has more power than i have skill.

I'm a 2-stroke guy('01 YZ250). My brother is a 4-stroke guy ('01 YZ426F). We constantly try so hard to get each other to convert to our own likings. It just seems impossible. When we get to arguing, we get really narrow minded. I don't like his "top-heavy (250lbs)" 426. My 250 feels a good bit lighter than his at 230 lbs.

rairden,

Stock, your bike should be closer to 210 than 230. Just trying to help you out for your next 2/4 scuffle

I just picked up an 04 CRF250 and I love it! So much easier to ride. On tracks, you don't have to worry about keeping it on the pipe. My 00 CR125 is currently for sale. So my CRF weighs about 10 pounds more and isn't as 'flickable' as my 2-stroke, it the torque makes up for it all, and the handling is darn good! Maybe it's just the 4th generation aluminum frame campared to the 2nd generation I was used to riding. So I guess for now, I have both. But by spring, it'll be 4-stroke only.
