i raised my forkes 9mm today on my 96cr250 for better turning it was at 3mm about the clamp but now its at 12. how much of a difference will this make? also my rear shock sag was at 105mm will this have changed? i have a wer steering damper so i think if i set that right i should have decent stability at speed. will my turning be better(sharper) all around now?

9mm is alot to raise the forks-i would only go in 3mm stages.
If you are after better steering you should try 95mm of sag.
If you go too far in term of sharp steering it can cause bad effects-like the front end knifing.Make small adjustments to ensure you know when you have gone too far.

The 96 Honda was a decent tuning motorcycle, I agree with marcusgunby make only small changes, with your damper 5-9 mm fork height with about 95 - 100 mm of sag should be decent for the 96
