XRPredator took the words right out of my mouth. If he does and he's successful he will be jacked and if he don't win he can say it was the bike switch.

Just think if RC were riding for Yamaha he would probably dip down in the 125 class with that awesome YZ250F and really show us fans something!

I think RC is going to be thinking about the perfect season even if he clinches early, how could he not be? He knows a lot of moto history and I think he will stay with the 250 as long as the possibility for perfection exists. Having said that, I also think that he is enough of a gamesman to ride the 450 just to show the rest of the crew that he can win on anything, but I voted no.

Although Ricky is dominating this season, the little things that he does, when he brakes, how the bike feels makes huge differences. Motocross is a very competitive sport. Even at the local level, often times the difference between first and fifth is only a few seconds. Ricky is winning by huge margins this year, he has confidence. Seasons like this only come along once in a great while, mechanical problems, sickness and injury all play a role. Stick with what made you a winner. Stay with the CR250.

I think RC does care about the records. Thats why he dropped down to the 125's at Steel City last year. I do think that theres a good possiblity that he will ride 125's at Steel City this year again after he clinches the title. RC has been paying attention to Bubba and I think that he would like to race him and what better place than Steel City.

He should ride a CR85 in the 125 class. That would make it interesting.

Or ride a CR133 in the 250 class. And also start backwards. :)

I think he should give the 450 a run. It would be a huge boost for Honda and it would give RC something to get really excited about. This season has got to be getting old for him ... win, win, win with no real competition. So he will give himself some competition.

BTW - I don't think it will matter ... nobody will get close to him. He could ride a mountain bike a kick everyones arse. It's him, not the bike. Plus don't think for a minute that he hasn't already been putting a fair amount of saddle time on the 450 already. I imagine he is quite comfortable on the big machine. I don't think he would do anything to jeopardize his streak.

I don't believe RC is the type that competes with a ready made excuse for losing. That's more my style

Putting the new toy away for now.

RC to stick with 2-stroke for 2002 outdoor nationals: RC has said many times he isn't focused on the win streak, just the championship, and he will ride the 4-stroke in a national if Honda says to do it, streak or not. Here's the problem: If RC wins the title early and switches to the 4-stroke, not winning a moto on it could be counter-productive. Also he has important 2-stroke races coming up like the MXdN and US Open. Now it looks like they will put the 4-stroke away for now and think about Glen Helen 2003.

Since when has TFS started writing press releases for Honda/RC? Seems to me he tried to playdown the MC/Orange deal also. Who's to say that RC doesn't go thunder right after clinching and never looks back? I've seen a whole bunch of local guys suddenly show up on CRF's and say to me, now I know why you started riding these things (4bangers) 3 years ago. My conspiracy theory is that Honda is making him stay on his 2smoker until they bag this outdoor title so that they can continue to move them off the showroom floor!

Anybody see him riding the CRF at Loretta Lynn's? It actually wasn't his prettiest. Wasn't smooth, didn't clear everything right...

I vote no. But only because everybody seems to think the thumpers are legalized cheating. I find great amusement in RC whooping the thumpers.

I'ma a thumper rider, but like the idea just the same. Leave him on the 2 stroke until the Greenies finish the class off for us.

Then he can kick those guys butts on the 450 too... :worship:
