Well I just got home from the Dr's, my season ended as of the Wolverine race. :(
At least I got to go out with a great race under my belt.
After struggling for the last three races due to a knee injury I will be having surgery on the 28th of Sept. to repair my ACL & Meniscus, then the rehab. and training for next year begins.
I will have plenty of time to look at my new 08 that I have ordered.
Good luck Freddy its been a fun year.

Don, sorry to hear that. Saw the wrap and ice on the knee yesterday and figured it must be bothering you pretty bad. Good luck with the repairs.

Sorry to hear that Don - Scope job or a new ACL reconstruct?

Yeah Don, sorry to hear about that, maybe you should have done what I did last year and just rode the season out with a torn meniscus and slight ACL tear and get it fixed at the end of the season. We kept it close until the very last race of the season in Goshen last year-it was a great battle. I will miss the battle this year but look forward to it next year.
Keep your chin up, us SS guys don't heal very fast so be patient. I had the scope job and it still ain't perfect but neither is the rest of my body.

I know how depressing a season-ending injury can be.... But you will be back.... bigger, stronger, faster than ever before! (... no wait, that's Steve Austin, the Bionic Man)

In the meantime, we are always looking for super seniors to help score events who have idle time and are proficient on the keyboard....

Sorry to hear that Don. That is around the same time I had my shoulder surgery last year. The only good thing is you will have plenty of time to rehab for next year.

Stay as positive as you always are Don. Season ending is better than riding days being over. That song "There's No Tomorrow" is all wet.

Thanks everyone. It will be a ACL rebuild using hamstring mucsle. The meniscis damage is why the swelling won't go down.
TCT The race trailer & truck will still be available with driver by Upland just have to find a new gas card.
SMIT I will be back better than before............ :ride:

Don I can help! 1st while you are recouping it is important that you eat right. So in the spirit of the season orange frosted donuts are a must. Ah who needs knee joints anyhow leave em loose and let them rattle and ride on.

Don, sorry to hear about your knee and having gone through the same thing last summer I know what it's like. One bit of advice, I probably wouldn't go with a hamstring graft. The strongest graft from my research was the patella tendon...

Thanks Nate the only thing that I was told was the for patella graft to be sucessfull it requires 4-5 hours a day of PT for a month to be really sucessfull. Don't have that kind of time. Hoping to come back stonger than before with training levels I can work with.

With my patella graft, I did PT 3 times a week and then whatever else I wanted on my own. Usually another 3 times a week riding a bike and doing strength and balancing exercises. I was able to ride bikes on the ice 5 months after surgery and I had the lateral and medial meniscus repaired in addition to ACL replacement.

I do not believe one type of graft should require more or less rehab. From my experience If anything, taking a portion of your hamstring will require additional hamstring strength rehab.

My 2 cents...

True statement as I have had 3 ACL replacements.
