I've pretty much met everyone before so I knew who was who (whom?). Always good to meet some new faces though. A nicer group of people you won't find anywhere. I already knew Jaybird was an OK sorta dude. I didn't know that Carlo was gonna hug me, or that zio was gonna KISS ME!!! :scream: So much for my plan to try to freak him out by kissing him first! (It's an Italian thing, don't ask.) I was stumbling up the hill for my morning, um, business, when I ran into Nikki and Red. I said to myself, "Hey! I know those guys." And when Wes pulled up right to the tent and pointed at me and said "HEY! I know that guy.", I was looking at him like, "Who is that?" Then it hit me, That's VD! :) He looks much younger and more fit in person. Great camping down the road from you, Wes. And thanks SO much for the coffee. Everyone else that I met for the first time was just so cool and so nice. I'll say it again, just like family. DW is the highlight of my year, and I'm proud to mooch coffee/sodas/carne asada/boudin/burritos/beers/etc. off of you guys and gals! :)

Elk, the horns will probably be removed...as soon as my new high pressure air powered setup is complete!

Jaybird, I was trully disappointed that you didn't sneak into my camp at night and lube my chain! I had a full can of Brake Cleaner and two rolls of paper towels locked and loaded just in case!

OF course all I really said when I found out it was 1 am: "SHUT IT OFF!! SHUT IT OFF!!

Uhhhh, I had NO idea it was that late! Of course, every night was that way for me, some sort of rift in the time/space continuum must have occured as we exceeded the speed of light driving through MO, KS and OK trying to get there as early as possible.

i gotta say mister.."mister", there i said it. i met him at DW01 and saw him at begining of DW02 and thought,"that guy thinks he's way too cool, he hasn't said word one to me, stuck up fast guy"..then after the alchol induced paranoia cleared up, i realized i hadn't said word one to him! yep, Mr Bill turned out to be a quite southern gentleman who was willing to listen to my diatribes, and ussually only added something of importance(i gotta figure that one out)...so, for me it's Mr Who, a pro who still is just a regular guy. milk,zio,vd,elk,timr,..pretty much as i figured...all morons! :thumb:

I gotta say Elk.
Dude remember the conversation we had about your avatar and you looked at me like I was speaking in tongues.
I was expecting some blond so-cal guy, not the guy whose shoulder was pulled out of his socket with a cheering audience...
I'm kicking myself (not too hard) for missing the smack down.
I expect an official invitation next year.

After much reflection I would have to vote for a couple:

SFO & FePrincess............

I figured SFO for a guy who would be too smart to have the time of day for a guy like me - couldn't have been more wrong - he was smart alright but one of the nicest, most un-assuming people I met.

Fe-Princess - a princess she was, but I really had this bad ass biker chick image in mind. Way too sweet of a gal for the tough girl I had in mind. Better hang on to that one SFO! :thumb:

Loved meeting you both and can't wait to meet up again - we may have to head out to CA so its not a year before we can hook up again.

Bill & Denise - I hope the trip was all you expected and then some, it was truly a pleasure meeting both of you.

Flattery will get you everywhere...
It was really great to meet you too.
I'll admit I had this lumberjack image of you in my mind (hence the avatar) , but you turned out to be this really, really sweet guy who always gave me his full attention.
You better make it out this way.
Any chance you'll be out for Reno??

Certainly a chance of us making it out for Reno - but I am starting to wonder if the annual Valentines day ride in Reno will even happen this year. It'll be hard without Strick and he seems to be scarce these days :(

Julius Pleaser surprised me even though I email to him a lot. He is very quiet in person.

Zio also surprised me--somehow I thought you were much older (just going by your posts, had never seen a picture).

Sarge and Milk--maybe I haven't seen as many of your posts as I had thought, but you both had me laughing all week. Much funnier than I expected!

Jeff Gilbert--You also look different from what I had pictured, somehow I had imagined someone a little calmer or something. I had a great time hanging out with you and Tigger--thank you for the loan of your tent!

Natalie and I are going to start working on that one!
We want the ride to happen :flame:
I've never met Strick because I didn't go last year.
Do you have any suggestions on getting ahold of him.
We are willing to do the leg work to make it happen. :yeehaw:

Well, we have 3 1/2 months to straigten it out.
I started a thread in Organized Rides too.
SFO and I used cobra links to lock our bikes to the trailer which was locked to the truck.
What kind of storage are you talking about???

Denise, most if not everyone will probably stay in casino's and then drive out to the riding area each day. That is the way it happened the last 2 years. Lets hop on over to the organized ride thread to further discuss.

Back to the subject...
TTR guy, I thought he has gotta be a super spode, who rides a spode tt-r anyways?
He came around me soooooooo fast on the hare scrambles I thought I was chained to a tree.
It was a slot car perspective, he didn't even move off of the trail or his seat cover, just zap~ and he lapped me and dissapeared.
He is an awesome woods rider on a tt-r.
BillyWho was super laid back guy, not some agro m-x weirdo, off the track at least.
Oakie and his family was very obliging and a pleasure to meet.( and work on your bike) Aimee whatcha gonna do.

Motometal was too young to know the difference between austinetic and martensetic. (and work on Denises bike)
Zoomer and his family gave me hope for my future as a father, what great people. (and work on your bike)
Guy Cooper for giving me the reeds for Denises bike and being very gratious.
Thump for the pipe I was going to buy and your integrity with the pit-police.
(and the sick avatars)
CCrider, and_SOLO_ for being the most unexpectedly nice and fun campmates.
Wrench, for not being nearly as sophisticated as his avatar...
(learn to start a 4stroke, surrender)
Spokerace, the best teacher for the yz-f starting ritual, make a video.
GETMETOCA-MightyAphrodite!
Jaybird, did you win something on my raffleticket the final day?
ZIO~jimmybeam<<<
Thanks for all the sick swag! I can't believe how rich my DW experience proved to be, and Denise, thanks for the great companionship~friendship I can't believe you are my old lady.
Your enthusiasm for this sport and to be a better rider has been a profound experience for me.
Thankyouall.
