Sound Level

I am going to the Silver Lake Sand dunes in a couple of weeks and they check the sound level of your exhaust. I am worried that i wont meet the requirements (94db) i have a 2001 YZ 125 with a bills pipe and bills silencer. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if im gonna have a problem or if i should just get a new silencer.

You are probably going to have to go to a FMF Q Silencer. Make sure that everything is sealed tight and that you don't have anything loose or rattling.

Would that Q silencer work with my Bills Pipe or do u think that a Trubine core 2 would be ok? Cause i was lookin to get that one anyways so now i have a reason to buy it. So would the Turbine core 2 work or would i have to get a Q

I think that you could make the Q work with your Bills silencer. The Q is only ~$20 more than the Turbine Core, much cheaper than a sound ticket. I am 99% sure that you won't pass 94db. with the regular turbine core.

the turbine core meet usfs requirements which means it will pass the sound check as long as the meter they use is working corestly and is being used as per manufacturers specs.

tb2 sound checked on my 03 YZ 250 was 93db. Not sure if 125 is louder than a 250 or not but mine made it.

Yeah on average a 125 is louder than a 250! Just but the q you wont even notice a difference in power!
