yeah, it rained sat and i didn't get to ride the 2 hunny so we went to the race site. it rained starting around mid night and then off/on all morning until it just kept raining. i was seriously thinking of not riding but thought I'd regret driving all this way and wondering what coud have been. so i suitd up and rode. it rained sde ways, straight down and from all directions. but fo some reason I had fun the first 2 sections and rode pretty well so after the 3rdc section een thought i was soaking wet I went to gas, grabbed some dry gloves, someting to drink and figued out where the next loop began. (I had the 2fiddy set up great for the conditions and it was just awesome) I didn't ride as well the second half and was pretty cold but at gas#2 before the last section I got another pair of dry gloves and shivered at the restart until it was time to go. the last secton was really tight and greasy and i hit a tree once but or some reason i was hooting and joking with the race crews at all the check points and had WAAAAY more fun than i expcted. I left imediatly to get to FL and pick up the rental car so Paul North stayed for trophys and checked and told me i got a 4th place trophy which he got for me. A pretty good ending to a day I was not sure I was going to ride.

I made it to Titusville fl about 11 PM and we're all set up and have wi fi here too. It not raining, and tomorrow will be a much better day. probably wash the Rv and bike and clean up the riding shat and enjoy the warmer weather.

Funny you should say that. Johnny Futo was working a check instead of riding. I hear..."fred" and I look up and he was at the check in for the 5th section instead of riding on row 5 like he signed up so I yelled "johny you big puzzy!, whay ain't you riding?" He laughed and ran over and fixed my boot buckle. Then Paul told me some guy that was 5th place told him to tell me hello when he picked up my trophy. I'll have to look up the results to see who that was.

When it rains for 3 days the sandlapper isn't really sandy, it was 50% clay which I didn't remember but it became abundantly clear Sunday slip sliding away! Really slick going up and down the hills in the pines. Whoo Hoo!

Fred, I forwarded your post to Johnny, so he could be reminded just how soft he is getting in his old age. He & his friend, Ben Hill are driving down to Lake Wales this morning, and made some excuses about the club needing help, and them needing to use a propane heater at the check, and all. :blah:

Hope you all continue to have a great trip! Lots of snow & ice here in Atlanta, GA., this morning, BTW.

Yeah, Johnny refuse to ride or even work if he had to be cold or wet, so they got a portable heater and set it up at the check.
He's been doing some smacktalk about the Gator though.
You'all can settle up at the 'Gator. :blah:

Had a great week of Bikes, Babes, Racing. Everyone should experience Bike Week at least once.
The ride home was challenging, after the Supercross the girls flew home and Bryan and I attempted to drive straight through. The trip went great until we got south of Cincinnati then all h@#l broke loose. First we had a blow out on the trailer, no problem. We installed the spare and were on the road in 20 min. 30 miles later the spare blew out. All of the tires were new the beginning of last season! We left the trailer on the side off th X-way and found a Walmart open on Sunday afternoon. They didn't have any trailer tires so we got 2 new car tires and was on the road again. Got off the next exit to check everything over, looks OK, on the road again. I scuffed the curb getting out of the lot, looked out the mirror and something didn't look right. I sliced the sidewall on the new 4 ply tire......installed the new spare and was on the road again. Bryan was using the GPS & the phone to locate a shop for a new trailer tire for a spare. I stopped 10 miles down the road to check the tires, I hear air leaking, a tire has a bolt & washer sticking out of it, what are the chances? I tell Bryan to have them bring two new tires to install on the side of the road. Get new tires on and get on the road again.
Going through Cincy it is raining HARD and the sky is very dark, the radio says there is thunderstorm warnings and a tornado has been sighted, to take cover, we continue north in the rain. Wyatt calls on the cell to tell me it is snowing like crazy and to be careful, thanks buddy.
Around Standish it starts to snow and the farther north we go the worse it gets. We continue on going 25-30 miles an hour and pushing 6-8 inches of snow. By the time I get home there is 12" on the road. Backing into the driveway I get stuck in the middle of my road!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 am, I am finally home, work first thing in the morning. Man what a trip! :)
