I am 5'10" and 195lbs is there any general rules or specifics as for suspension settings? It feels like it is too soft and I want to stiffen it up a bit , any sugestions would be greatly appreciated. This is for a 2001 YZ250. Thanks

At your weight you are reaching the maximum for the springs. You might have to get stiffer springs to have the bike setup right. In the meantime, set the sag and play with the clickers.

After that play with the clickers. Here's some articles...

Are you bottoming out - If your not bottoming you're not using all of your suspension to your fullest and may be running too stiff - I would turn the compression clickers out until you do bottom then turn in one or two clicks. Make sure to check the rebound also, too fast of a rebound and the bike will bounce more. The key is getting a good balance.

Play with oil levels before investing in springs. I am 190 and .43 springs work well for me. I am also 5' 10" (with boots).

I am , at best, a beginner MX guy. Still, heavier springs would make my bike worthless for anyting but MX.

I would first add 5 cc's of fork oil per leg.
