Why does loud suck? :coocoo:
Because STUPID SUCKS also but that might make those that wonder why LOUD SUCKS feel like they are being picked on.

I doubt there are many that don't enjoy the rumble of a nicely done exhaust on a big V8 but then we've all also heard the dork with straight pipes that thinks his rig sounds sweet as he wakes you up a 3am OR the big V twin next to you blairing through open pipes that can hardly get out of it's own shadow being constantly blipped as you sit at the stop light. Basically there is reasonable sound and stupid sound and while there might be some variation of what different people think sounds good the outright loudness of the sound is what turns the vast majority of people off. Why ruin a good thing? We all ride for the same reason, to have fun. If having a loud exhaust is what you consider fun then get a sound track , burn it to a MP3 device and blast it under your helmet as you ride a quite bike.

I think if dirt bikes or atv's create to much " noise " and are being banned and closed down. Then street bikes and harleys shouldn't be aloud on the road or ridden. Think about it, those bikes go right threw the citys. But what ever

Granted, there are STUPID loud harley's .. difference is, they don't ride around in circles all day like we do on tracks or on small pieces of property.

I totally agree with quieting bikes down. But I kinda fear wearing a shirt like that and some non-rider seeing it and just reading the big print and it sticks in their head. Next thing they are complaining about bikes that they never noticed before.

Yea, maybe Im over analyzing it. Just the first thing that popped in my head when I saw it.

Mis-reading or interpreting differently than intended could happen with just about anything. A ricer would think it was about his fart can, a audio-idiot thinks it about his subs, harley poser about his bike.... it's all good with me, in every case I can think of, loud does suck lol.

+1 on the back only ...

I ordered two shirts and 4 bumper stickers for starters and a DW'02 shirt to commemorate breaking my foot.

I wish you had a insulated mug ...

You should link the "stuff". I had lost track of how to get to it ... ;)

Even those whack jobs are going to say noise was the real issue.

Wow ... there was a similar incident where a kid was almost decapitated about 20 years ago in South Arlington.

Okie.

I am also interested in the shirts and stickers. Logo on the back would be good. Are you still at the same address in Lewisville? I will send a check.

Thank you for stepping up to the plate on this one.

And to those of you who say "It's my right" or "I don't care what others think, man"...keep on saying that - right up to the moment that no one has a place to ride.

I totally agree with this statement. We need to police our own.

However what people need to understand is that these tree hugging eco freaks and the politicians that take their side will not stop until we no longer have the freedom to ride at any time at any place period! Loud pipes, sand snails, sage grouse, air pollution and land erosion are just their chosen arguments to shut us down. In the end none of this will make a difference. A day will come when we will have to make a choice of breaking the law and riding or giving up a sport, tradition, recreation and way of life we hold dear.

I agree with the first couple of sentences ... I do not prescribe to the doomsday opion after that however. As mentioned before, Noise is the one problem that EVERYONE can relate to... saving the sand snails isn't enough motovation to get the masses going... problematic? Yes. The fact remains, Noise is the number one problem and if the day 380 predicted comes, it'll be because our bikes are too loud.
