Okie, any idea on when some plans may be firmed up. Aimee and I (along with some others to share) are in but we are going to definitely need something firmed up before too long. If we wait until a month before and it falls through we will be SOL big time. I would think its getting close enough to start this ball rolling, if we don't give them enough notice I doubt there is any way they'll be able to provide 10 units.

Class A, B, C, L, M, N, O, P, X, Y or Z I don't care, I just need the biggest thing I can get for around $1000. Needs to sleep three guys and their significant others, if they should happen to make it.

Okie,
Any word yet on costs? With the mrs coming along we are exploring some options. Looking for a little one that sleeps 4. (or two adults, a one year old and all the accompanying hardware.) Sharing would likely not be good for whomever we shared with

Sabooo,

How do you plan on getting the bikes there? We are renting an RV in NJ and we'll be pulling a trailer for the bikes. Since we will have 6 kids with us we just can't seeing craming them into trucks/vans for a 24 hour ride...TWICE. Do you have a better solution?

Is their anybody looking for 1 more person to join in a coach or have space to rent? I was tossing around the idea of splitting a room with a friend but he is not going now.

Okay, here's the info.

1. All of these RV's are owned by individuals, the place is contracted to rent them out. Therefore, there isn't much that can be done price-wise.

2. I'm still working with the guys that would deliver/set-up and pick-up to see if that price can be reduced. I'll update that as soon as I get the info.

3. We will need to commit to renting, no later than a month prior to insure there will be (up to 15) units available. A deposit will be required with the reservation.

Here are the units available.

A) 19-24 foot long trailer, sleeps 5-6: $540 for the week.
B) 37-40 foot trailer, sleeps 9: $600
C) 23-26 Foot Class C Motorhome, sleeps 4-5: $900
D) 26-31 Class C Motorhome, sleeps 6: $990
C) 30' Class A - $1,170
D) 33' w/Living Room Slide: $1,320
E) 35' w/Living Room, bedroom slide: $1,410
F) 38-39' Class A Diesel: $2,160
G) 40-41' Class A Diesel w/slides: $2,400

Generators are NOT charged extra.
Awnings are NOT charged extra (yes, some places do charge extra)
Cleaning charge is extra ($75 I believe).. but, we had no problem cleaning ours well enough last year to avoid the charge.

Unlike a lot of places, this company doesn't nickle and dime you to death with extras and was really easy to work with last year.

Please hold off contacting them untill I get a chance to talk to them a couple more times to get some concessions, maybe with stuff like kitchen kits, cleaning, delivery, etc.

Some Details From the company:

Below you'll see why we are the largest RV rental company in Texas and now, Oklahoma. We rent RV's to people from all over the world. While we are located in Texas and Oklahoma, we have become the staging center for RV travelers everywhere.

Motor home rentals include the following:
The unit of your choice with a minimum of the following equipment. Generator (Produces 110v electricity), dash and roof air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, am/fm stereo cassette deck, TV antenna with power booster, furnace, water heater, fresh water holding tank, waste water holding tanks, complete kitchen with sink, stove, microwave oven and 2 door refrigerator/freezer, complete bathroom facilities including shower, sink and toilet, clothes closets and beds according to floor plans. Class A motor homes (MH) have built in TV. Some Class C motor homes (MMH) are TV ready but do NOT have the TV in them.

Full tank of fuel, fresh water tank is full, a minimum of 1/2 tank of propane, waste water tanks are empty, 4 roll pack of RV toilet tissue, 2 bottles of toilet chemical, fresh water drinking hose, water pressure regulator, 10 ft. sewer hose and a 30amp/15amp electrical adapter.

Unit is cleaned inside and out, refrigerator is on and cold, water heater is lit, all systems have been checked for proper operation and the black water waste tank is charged with toilet chemical. All beds are disinfected after each use.

Full coverage insurance. The renter is responsible for the first $2,000.00 on collision damage. This responsibility can be reduced to $1,000.00 for $12.00 per rental day. (Optional)

Unlimited generator use. NO prep fees or hidden charges.

Pick up is after 2:00 p.m. on the day of departure. Return is before 11:00 a.m. on the day of return.

There is a damage deposit of $500.00 ($1,000.00 for foreign nationals). This can be in the form of cash, check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover. The damage deposit is refunded within 10 days when the unit is returned undamaged.

Rates are based on a 3 day minimum. (1 and 2 day rentals will be charged a surcharge but can be accommodated.) You will receive 100 miles per rental day. Rentals of 1 week or longer will receive 150 miles per rental day.

24 hour per day/7 days per week roadside assistance plus our own toll free 800 line for Customer Service.

Rental Unit Handbook that tells you in "plain" English how to operate the various systems on the RV.

Indoctrination Video Tape that is a "mirrored" image of your walk-through. We realize you'll forget much of what you're shown when you pick the unit up so we furnish you a walk-through on video tape. When you forget something, pop the tape in the VCR and fast forward to the area in question. Let an expert SHOW you how it's done!

Previous damage can be a problem for you if it's not detected during the walk-through process. We've taken every precaution to make certain we NEVER charge a renter for damage that was already there. In addition to the personal walk-through inspection with you, we take digital photos of the unit just before you leave plus we video tape the check out. We are committed to making sure you're not charged for damage you didn't do.

Free mileage is, of course, never really free but we've got the most liberal "included" mileage in the industry. On rentals of less than one week in duration, you get 100 miles per rental day included. On rentals of one week or more, you get 150 miles per rental day. Additional miles are $.29 per mile. Most companies charge between $.30 and $.40 per mile.

Okie - what are those prices for? Is that delivery on Sunday and pickup on the following Sunday? Does that include the delivery and pickup?

RV places are typically closed on Sundays... therefore the pick-up / drop-off would be Mondays. I'm going to try to work it so it can be Sunday to Sunday. I'm hoping with that many RV's, they'll open on Sunday to deliver/receive. Will advise.

Are the cheaper "trailers" the 5th wheel type, and will they deliver/set up those as well?

If it can be dilevered (pulled by one of the other RVs?), we're interested in the:

A) 19-24 foot long trailer, sleeps 5-6: $540 for the week.

Thanks,

Doc... we may be able to work something out for someone to go get the trailer for you, will just need to post about it in here. There is bound to be someone with a truck in this group that will help a brother out :)

Well, I didn't get anywhere with discounts as mentioned before. If these rigs were all owned by the company rather than individuals, we would have stood a chance.

As it is, it looks like the best we can do is make someone available at the RV place to turn in the RV's on Sunday, rather than Monday. The rental will still be from Monday - Monday, but at least we won't have to wait until Monday to turn them in. I know that helps me out, last year I had to hangout in OKC overnight!

To get someone to open the place and receive/check in the RV's they are asking $50 per RV. I'm still working on getting that reduced, but don't hold your breath, these guys are the only game in town. But keep in mind, these are pretty good rates with no add-on crap to worry about.

At this point, if you want to contact them to reserve, go ahead. Just make sure to tell them you are with the DirtRider.Net group, so I can still try to get some $ off for us all.

Is anyone renting from these guys for sure? I'm just about to make my reservation but I need to see if there are going to be enough of us renting to have them open for Sunday drop offs.

Anyone?
