Well, I used to have a dirtbike and an old car and trailer. Then I sold the bike and got a pickup truck in anticipation of getting another dirtbike. Then the truck started bailing and I sold it. Then I got this Honda and bought another dirtbike. Sooooo, I've had a truck and a dirtbike, but never at the same time. It would be nice, but I've got to work with what I've got. I'm not complaining, because at least I can ride. :D
That's better than having a truck that doesn't run, a bike that does run, and a car that you don't trust to drive that far of a distance (doesn't have a hitch anyway) to go ride. This doesn't include 2 other non running vehicles (besides the truck). I'm starting to sound like one of those hillbillys with no teeth hah?
That's a good one. I once took out my passenger seat in a Toyota Corolla so I could fit a 4-12" speaker cabinet in the car but that doesn't hold a candle to this picture.
Thats nothin'! I saw a guy who had a problem with his normal hauler, a pick up truck and came driving to the races with his car. He rode his RM250 up on to the roof of the car and tied it down to the roof! He was nuts, but he got to the races.
When I was younger I pulled my bike on a trailer with a Ford Escort.
Never had a problem and I sold the car with 140,000 miles. I did this in New Mexico and here in Ohio... I hope to soon be back in N.M. soon thou...
I use to pull my double place open trailer with my Vw Jetta. I even pulled it home from PA when I got a different job. Watch the load and if you need a towing pagage ect...
Kevin
I mean really, if my trailer weighs 400 lbs and my bike, gear and gas is 250 lbs. That is a total of 650 lbs or like driving around with 3 217 pound guys. That said, the car is supposed to be able tto haul something like 2000 lbs I think. So, it should be fine
The problem is that all that weight is pushing down on the rear suspension making it almost bottom out just sitting still. The power to tow is no problem it is the suspension. The only way to stiffen the rear on a Taurus is to get new struts. If you can live with that then fine. Otherwise it is pretty scary.
