Lost in Lake City

Where can I get info on Mccct races. Classes, dates, registering. I live about 2 miles forom the Jack pine trail north of lake city and can't find any info online. Is there still a race on that trail? I cant find anything.

Any help appreciated, I'm new to the sport and feeling helpless at the moment.

Welcome!
Let's start with some clarifications:
MCCCT = Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail (it's just a trail)
CCC = Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan (state level club, they do trail rides but no races)
Jack Pine Trail = er, no such thing per name, but the Enduro named the Jack Pine is still alive and well. It's put on by the Lansing Motorcycle Club (some members are on this board and can fill you in). There are trails out there that the Jack Pine is run on which might be what you are calling Jack Pine Trail.

If you want to attend organized rides and meet lots of great people, consider joining the Cycle Conservation Club. They have plenty of rides each season that allow you to learn new trails, meet new people and generally have an excellent time. http://www.cycleconservationclub.org

Of course this board is also full of neat people and provides plenty of opportunity to ride with small groups.

Welcome to DRN and MTR!!!!

If you are in Lake City, keep an eye for Santa Claus (well, some people think he looks him) driving a Michigan State green Chevy S10 pu. The truck may have a '93 KTM in the back.....
that would be Circuit Rider.

Hey welcome on board. As far as joining Michigan Trail Riders, you just did!

Woodsy, I see you're online. Give LC RM the rules of membership and world history according to the MTR, but try to keep it to less than 4 pages. :nener:

WELLLLLLL, I have never been so insult, so, so, sooo honored to be the chosen one.... :rotfl:
WELCOME TO THE CLUB LC!!!!!!!! Now that wasnt so bad was it?? Of course to be a full fledged member you must learn to put up with a lot of cra, errr ahhh, challenge set forth by club rules and setforth by court proceedings that were officiated by one not so Honorable Judge Mwessein.. One of the interesting things that you will find in the Club Bylaws are the issuance of consideration paid to life members of the Club by all new members.. This consideration can be paid in many ways including feeding them hot dogs/hamburgers or just plain sandwiches along with rum cake after a long day on the trail..
Another form of consideration is jsut trail courtesy,, Things like not laughing at other members who fall or may be challenged in the riding skills area or refrraining from laughter at those who are just plain ugly to look at.. One of my favorite ways to pay consideration is simply by showing up for rides at least 20% of the time on time! This has gone a longggggggg ways in me showing my willingness to contribute wholesomely to the "Club"....
Something else that can be done is to be pro-active (what do you think of that "buzz-word" usage Mark??) about tricking, I mean convincing others to join our group.. You see, the way we look at in the MTR family is that the more people we have lost on the trail at one time the less likely (statistically speaking) that one of us more important, I mean, older, I mean, "getting up there in trail time" riders is going to have to spend a night lost in the spooky woods for the night.. There have been many times that this "practice" of adding to our group has proven benificial as the newbie just happened to know the way out... Of course, as prescribed by club rules the "newbie" was reminded at dinner time not to brag about his woods knowledge but to allow the elder to enjoy the limelight by regognizing them as a great leader and one who should lead many more such endeavors (funny, as I recall I havent been truely lost every since wehave been enforcing the pro-active status of new member solicitation and the "no insulting" rule was adopted into the bylaws - I have noticed that there have been alot of people that only ride with us one time though - I wonder if there is a conclusion that could be drawn from this.....)...
At any rate, I want to let you know that we are glad to have you on the board and that I really look forward to eating your food, enjoying your compliments and not being made fun of anymore (some of these yahoos can be down right obnoxious)!!
Did I forget anything guys????
Woodsy
