The UPS truck just drove by my house and still no parts.
This Monday will be two weeks since we agreed to send everything back to each other.
Another weekend w/out a bike and Sunday night at midnight we go to category 3 fire restrictions. I'm now officially not riding this summer. First summer with no bike since 1976.

brandolph,

Do you know who XRPredator is on these boards, and what service he provides to DRNer's?? Ya might want to look him up as I think he will be able to help you in your time of need. ;)

Green Horn-
No idea who XRPredator is but I have the feeling I don't want to know.

Here's a good example of how my luck's been going lately.
I checked the mail right after my last post and had a note from the P.O. saying I had a package in town (I live in SUPER podunk MT).
Whoo hoo my parts are here I thought!
Made it to the P.O. with about 2 minutes to spare and guess what I got. The freakin' crap that Gorr sent me 2 weeks ago. I was workin' on the road last week and sent the sh*t to my address by mistake.
I spose that's more my dumbsh*tness than luck but what a freakin' let-down.
And I burned another 15 bucks.

Sorry if I come off like an insensitive sob but here it comes anyways. I sympathised(sp) with your earlier posts, but maybe you should give it a rest till you get a response coz you are starting to come off like a whining school girl that got stood up for the prom. Isn't there some guy here that drives a waaaaaaambulance

He should feel bad about it. Here he is whining about how Eric isn't helping him out and he's not going to be able to ride because Eric is taking too long... low and behold HE'S the one who messed up and sent the parts to HIMSELF. He let himself down on that one. Eric had nothing to do with it.

Brandolph, before you jump in any other holes called 'conclusion' I suggest you wait until you are able to speak with Eric. ASSuming things won't get the job done.

This is a flame board but after reading the follow-ups here to your inital and subsequent posts, right or wrong, I've got a feeling it isn't Eric who is going to be looking like the bad guy. Reading between the lines, I suspect you have not only attacked a sponsor but a personal aquaintance if not an outright friend of some infuential members of DRN. If you expect to maintain any credibility of your complaint, you really need to allow Eric to respond before unloading any further. Good luck getting this resolved.

Actually, response from un-satisfied customers can be a good thing, in that it allows a business person to find out what areas their customer service may be lacking in. Legitimate complaints can help you to focus on problem areas, but whiners can make one wonder why they went into business for themselves in the first place.
Thank God I don't have to handle customer complaints anymore in my new job!

I think he's just screwing with you, because you're being a dickhead.

I have NEVER had anything rebuilt where a core charge wasn't applied. You always have to give him cores, or pay extra. That's how it works everywhere else. I replaced the steering box on my 68 corvette, and guess what?...core goes to the rebuilder.

I have NO idea how your wife got her old brakes back, but she can probably use them to beat you over the head with.

And both Eric and Rich have warned people NOT to send their stuff in the summer/fall because that's when he's busier than a one legged man in an ass kickin' contest.

What's the freakin deal? He admitted it was his fault the package didn't make it back to Eric in time and that he made a STUPID mistake! I think you're all acting like a bunch of a@@****s! He's made his case! Now it's you all that are making all of the assumptions. Yes Eric's done a great job in the past. Yes everyone (except brandolph) has nothing but nice things to say about him and his work. But like it was mentioned earlier sometimes people slip (assuming Eric or his staff slipped) which we don't know one way or the other as of yet. He's not whining. He's expressing a complaint, trying to give ALL of the details (including his own shortcomings---we should assume at this point anyway), and you guys are riding his butt for it. Come on!!! GIVE THE GUY A FRIGGIN BREAK! Now, if Eric comes back and says it's all a lie and he's bent over backwards to satisfy him, I'll be the first to flame brandolph for it.

I talked to Eric at length about this when I saw him this morning. As most of you expected there is WAY MORE going on here than Bob Randolph is bothering to mention. No big surprise there. :silly:

I'll just leave it at that rather then repeat what I said about this earlier today because it might overheat the DRN forum word censor.

Eric's small town local ISP went bellyup so he has been offline for a little while. He should be back on the forums early next week at which point you can hear HIS side of the story and decide for yourself what's going on.

Nephron-
Nothing was rebuilt!!!
Eric found me a used cylinder. My cylinder was no good as a core as it had been sleeved. At that point I could have ordered a new head and valve cover (and of course, new valve parts) on my own for the same $ amount and I'd still have my old parts.
Thanks for calling me a dickhead.

Other than a little whining in one post about not getting my parts and not being able to ride I've pretty much just been responding to other peoples posts.

I'm not trying to get anything resolved. It's already been resolved-or at least it will be when I get my head. And what's the big deal about me sending the stupid box to myself?? It means nothing other than Eric's going to have to wait a few more days to get his parts.

And I knew when I started this thread where it was going to go. I'm gonna get flamed. There's no way that a dirtbag red-neck from MT is going to come on Eric's boards and win an argument on the internet.

What's important here is that he sent me a head that wouldn't bolt to the cylinder or the frame w/out ordering parts and fabbing brackets and I couldn't get the coolent inlet hooked up because the RMX tank blocked the RM water inlet. I'm sure this was unforseen-other than the short studs. That was carelessness. But it was fortunate because if these parts had worked I would have had busted valves in my new top-end before the thing was broken in. That was way more than careless.

Okay...Okay...
The guy had a bad experience, some may have been his own fault, maybe not. We're all human here, including Eric. Maybe it could have been worded better, maybe the communication between the customer and Eric could have been better. How many of us are naive enough to think stuff like this can't happen to even the best company? Fact of the matter is, people will be much quicker to talk about a bad experience than a good one. Nature of the beast.

No need to pile on either Eric or the customer. If Eric wants to comment he can, but otherwise, this thread is closed. I won't be surprised if he doesn't want to get into a pissing match on the web though.

And BTW, this is not Eric's board. Last time I checked I still have the keys.
