What cylinder heads are interchangeable?

I know I can use an 88 head on an 87 but what about the newer water cooled bikes? Can I put the 94' head on my 89'? Is the 94' head any different than the 04'??

Has anyone heard of Phathead Racing's heads with interchangeable combustion chambers for quick compression changes???

The 89 kdx 200 heads seem to have a different part number then 90-94 :debil: I dont't know whats different though :p But the cylinders for 89-94 have the same part number so I think it will work, also the head gaskets have the same parts number from 89-94. :cool:

'95 up is a different engine from '94 down and the head is not braced to the frame so I am pretty sure that the two vintages of heads is different. Cheers John
