What Route From N. Ca

Just curious what driving route folks are taking from Northern Calif.

I am located between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. I was planning on 395 south to 40 east.

Myself and the family are heading out on 9/27.

IMO, 395 is too slow.

I will be going to bakersfield & catching 58 to 40.
You could go either 5 or 99 to bakersfield, but if you go 5, you will want to take 33 thru Wasco to 99.

Thanks Farmer. I think I will take your advise and head through Bakersfield. If I remember right 395 is kinda narrow at times too. See ya there.

Anyone coming down 40 that has room for an xr600? Not to take it there but to bring it back to nashville tn area??? Would pay $$$ UHAUL wants over $500 for the trip as well as the other moving companies for me to rent a 10 footer. My car doesn't have a hitch.
