Case is officially unsplit!
Woo Hoo! ANd the stator is back on. It went much better the second time (doesn't it always ;) ).
The crank was not centered at first, so I heated up the cases a bit, and whacked it with a hammer through a piece of scrap oak. Popped it right into place.
The aftermarket (bearing shop provided) seal didn't work the best, it has a compound lip that stuck out and had to be tucked back in. Not recommended, but I think I was able to do it without nicking anything.
