Why don't I see any KTM 525SX's at the track?

I'm starting to get the bug to upgrade my 98KX250. Definitely want a 4 stroke. I strictly ride MX. Why don't I ever see any 525SX's at the track. I see a sea of CRF's and YZF's, but never any 525's. Are these bikes not good for MX or are they just rare? I'd love to be a little different and ride a KTM, but I'm concerned that their popularity, or lack thereof, at the MX track is indicative of the bike. What's going on here?

MXtex -

the crf450 and yzf 450 are legal in the 250 class, wereas the ktm525 is not. the 525 is an open class bike. does your local track(s) ever hold open class races? if they do, go to one and see if there aren't more 525s.

if you want a KTM and still want to race in the 250 class, then you'll need an SX450.

Agreed; but I don't see many KTM450's either. I can only remember seeing one. There are easily 20 CRF/YZF's to every KTM450sx on any one day. Why is this? How do the KTM 4 strokes stack up again the CRF's and YZF's for MX?

hmm i saw a few when i went riding, ya it must be because people want the option to race in a 250 class... plus the honda's and yamaha's are very popular and hold a good reputation
