Went riding with a buddy today that has an XR650. After laying it over it's a bear to start. While going thru the clean out routine then trying to restart it, it caught fire apparently inside the airbox and and started shooting fire out the airbox drain tube and scorched the lower front portion of the airbox cover. It seemed to me like the airfilter might have also been a little saturated with fuel. Anyone else ever had this happen? Do the carb float min. and max. travel settings need to be set differently than how it comes from the factory like the XR400 has to be? Also, he seemed to be having trouble with it getting hot enough to boil over. Anyone tried running Redline Water Wetter or similar with better results than a water/antifreeze mix? Thanks for any comments.
