Well I am pretty close to actually buying a 450 (finally). I found a really nice looking/riding 02 CRF 450. It already has the offset triple clamp (applied), renthal twinwall bars, and FMF exhaust.

Here's the question--is there anything I need to look at carefully to make sure its 100% OK? Were there any problems with the 02 besides needing the offset clamps that I need to be aware of? I remember reading something about bad water pumps. He had the dealership put new valves in it recently also.

All info would be appreciated as I am going to go look at it/buy it within a week.

May be another bike, but I think those bikes had a problem with the airfilter not sealing tight against the airbox. You'll definitely want to check that and replace it (there's an aftermarket company that supposedly makes a real good sealing kit...but the name escapes me).

Yeah, I do remember hearing about that now. I think the brand is Pro-Seal. I saw that this bike's airbox boot was sealed up with silicone.

Anone else have any other advice/information?
