Well it's looking like my bike is too broken to for me to make it. :( (and I *really* wanted to do my best impression of Shane Watts by slamming into a tree and endo'ing over the bars al-la Terrafirma 7  ) I had it tore apart today and found the kick starter shaft was snapped in half and the side case to the engine is cracked/braking-up in the inside. :bang: I'll see how well I do in Vegas next month and go from there ;)

BTW if you think I'm scared and an trying to sneek out of this I'll glady send you half of the busted shaft :moon:

Note; Elevation in the Bear creek riding area ranges from 2000-3500FT. Average temperatures from 5-10 degrees at nite to anywhere form 10-20 degrees on cool weekends , but usually 10-15 at nite and 20-30 degrees on the warmer weekends(good for dirtbike blender drinks)!

Unless something really bad happens, I'm in! Should even have my bike running by then too. Unless there's no room for obnoxious blondes who can't ride?

Honestly, I wish I could join you guys and gals in Maple Leaf country. Please take as many pictures as possible. It's so breathtaking up there.

Dirty-D, the Rockets just won the Memorial Cup a few weeks ago.THans for sending them up here. :moon: Fc22 what kind of toys? We only approve of things that are flammible, and/or exoplosive! See you this weekend at LPO. Come on guys, the USA isn't going to get much representation if more of you guys don't come up for this ride. Just consider this: no stickers or special licences required, no Ranger or other authority telling you what you can and can't do,no spark arrestors required,CANADIAN BEER :yeehaw: ,no rules!!!!,some of the best riding you will ever experience, and most of all your money goes a long way here!!

All this rain we've been having is also a HUGE help. Keith is right, absolutly no rules what so ever, except for obvious common sense. Isn't the Canadian beer a good enough incentive already? How about this, at a recent race (Ogopogo XC) near where this Canada day ride is going on, I met up with 2 guys from Seattle and they said that the Okanagan Valley has the best riding they have EVER been on, and they wern't exaggerating. Needless to say I took them to some hill climbs, that I thought wern't that steep (theres steeper out here) and they could harldy ride down them because they have never been on anything so steep before. But, there is riding for absolutly everyone out here. There ya go, theres my best sales pitch for you guys to get your butts up here and ride with us!(and enjoy adult beverages.)

You guys are going to have to try harder. Endoquest keeps mumbling something about being too busy. I can't tell if he's scared or just thinks the riding might not be challenging enough for him. Twist his arm a little, endoquest at etra.net.

We have all recovered from putting on the Funky Chicken Hare Scramble so everyone should be ready to ride! Instead, it seems like the rest of the Oregon wrecking crew is floundering as well.

Pegasus and Marshal have a deal working to sell her ranch (but we might get to keep riding there) so they probably won't go.

"Rapids" Reising, (best known for his unique ability to completely submerge his old KX 500 in a water crossing that was barely shoelace deep), is being typically non-commital. Somehing about a Little League baseball tournament that weekend or maybe he'll decide to buy a new house ....

Bonehead is building a house on 20 acres he bought this spring. Had to sell his 525 to close the deal :ugg:

Pat is getting married (she doesn't ride), so he's history.

It might just be Belle and I (and our 14 and 15 year old daughters) coming along to uphold the Oregon tradition. What about bringing BEER into Canada? I know, it's like bringing sand to the beach, but I'm talking HOMEBREW here. I really don't want some sweaty customs guys sticking his arm into my beer keg just to see if I am hiding contraband.

I would hate to have to camp on the US side of the line until we finish the keg, and I am not going to dump out my BEER or hand it over to the border guards.

Any suggestions?

Bob R.

Well it`s to bad about your mates ,but if all we get is one person(or group) to show up,and then be able to tell everyone what they missed, then maybe it`ll be easier for next time!
They always ask us if we`re carrying any booze when we cross either way,but I think if it`s for your own consumption it`s OK.If you cross at the Oroville/Osooyos border crossing ,you`d only be 50 minutes from my house ,so I`ll come down and help you drink the keg!!
See ya soon!

I'm going to work on my parents to see about going, but I think it may be hopeless, as I've already been over to the Okanagan twice this spring for races (4 hour drive to Kelowna). I'm going to try, because I love riding at Bear Creek.
