Stir Stir Stir.................

Oh yeah, and a horn too.
Honk Honk

I have also heard that most of you have computers on your bikes as well. Is that so you can send tweets and stuff during your race (oops I mean ride/timed event) - are you riding now?

HA

Hey! Did that password I emailed you finally work??? :rotfl:

I agree with Fred here....I think they have those "resets" just so they can use their handlebar mounted computer to update their facebook status, and then click the "like" button on their buddies post about his new orange underwear.

My quote button works now Mully.....lights on for safety!

"2. Required Equipment
a. At sign-up, all machines must be equipped with operating headlight, taillight, horn, mirror, and valid license plate “where applicable”, and a USFS-approved spark arrestor muffler.
b. All required equipment must remain intact during the entire event."

Does this mean you are disqualified if your clown horn falls off?

"l. If the final check is a secret check before the final posted mileage on route sheet, club / promoter must inform the rider that the event is over."

Do you need a decoder ring to figure out the "secret Check"?
Why not just use a checkered flag, that way you do not have to yell "hey dude your done".

Remember...Enduro IS the oldest form of off-road motorcycle RACING, pre-dating even the AMA!
With out time keepers would there even be MX?

I believe you should all bow to the clown horn and give THANKS

"In the event a tie still exists, the winner will be determined by the D14 Enduro Chairman."

It is a good idea to be really nice to your Chairman - he likes beers - good quality beer if I remember correctly.

Ok Mr. Dunn....using that rationale....have you ever looked at the photo's from the late 1800's/early 1900's of young ladies enjoying themselves at the beach (black suits that cover them from head to toe)....and compared them to today's photo's of the same user group?

Lesson to be learned: Just because something predated the creation of another, it does not require our admiration if it clearly isn't as much fun and doesn't make as much sense.

You stick to bathing trunks and bloomers.....I'll saddle up to the beach and enjoy the view.

Stir.... :)

I never had a computer, speedomiter or odomiter or anythin on my bike.... useless. = )

Really?? How were you able to compete? Did you feel out of place?? Did you keep that equipment off your bike in an attempt to keep the cherry picking accusations to a minimum?

I think it's just the sign of an MX'r competing in the stop and go (but not too fast) world of enduro's.

And all the other crap has a useful purpose?

You guys do know that I am way to much of a puss to ride one of your events. I am good with two 12 minute motos and lemon aid at the van. Heck, I have ridden HS (on and off) since 1978 and have never rode solo. I will still keep doing my best to offend you clown horns, because it's fun.

FYI I plan to enter my 13 year old nephew in a FES event. Does he need a clown horn? do I just go to clownhorns.com?

You guys won't beat me up at the Family event will you? (I figure a few of you may want to scrap it out after all the shat I am throwing at you). :nener:

Mr. Spore, Using that rationale....Without those black cover ups, we would not have seen that covering up the female body was such a bad thing...Leading to the strings of today.
Without Enduros the mx'ers would not know that they were tired after a mere 20 minutes as they would have nothing to compare to for real endurance riding.......Stir!

09oneL,
You will be safe at the FES events, no clown horn needed, as the Enduro riders are nothing but sweet friendly souls that don't yell or push anyone around, move over nicely for faster riders. A nicer bunch of people you will never meet.

To stir the pot a bit.....

In all honesty I get more tired/pumped up in a 25 minute moto than I do in an enduro. Don't know why.... that's just how it is.

Me too. Settling in to a nice pace is not an option in MX. It is all out for the whole race and it will kick your butt quickly. I am sure the hart rate is much higher during MX.

Touche, Mr. Dunn.

So, how did they do it back then? I mean, how did they know when to go fast, when to go slow, when to honk their horn (loved it when Neal S. did that at HS races), or when to take breaks? Stop watches? Wrist watches with a second hand? A sun dial on the crossbar??

Haha... I'm joking about getting it two minutes into a section, more like lap 3 of a hs...The second part, well I guess you need to spend more time flying solo or take some pills :)
