What are some ways to make a seal driver
for the forks on a 01 CR 250. You can't
use a PVC pipe over the top like on
conventional forks so I want to Know how
other people have made them.
We cut the old seals so you can slip them on the tubes. Then we put them over the new seals and use a punch to pop them in. When the new seal is in pull off the old seal you hammered on.
Just made one and did seals on my 43mm WPs this weekend. Cut square about 4" of the right size PVC (1.5"), releive the inside edge on one side for the seal lip to clear, and cut in half lengthwise. Clamp around the tube with a hose clamp, flat edge to seat bushing, releived edge to seat seals, and very carefully use the tube as a "ram" to push (not hammer) the bushings and seals in.
