How to uncork a WR250F

Hey my buddy got a 08 wr250f and compared to a 125 two stroke it seems a little slow :uh: . . . Is there any way he can get it to run like the raped ape the yz250f runs like?? :ride: I've read about a rev-limiting grey wire but don't know where that is or what to do. What about the air box or stock exhaust?? the carb?? thanks! appreciate any tips

Well im sure you know they are geared different and to be honest i dont think there is a way to make it really run like a YZ250F.I mean you can bore it and put some aftermarket exhaust and put some hot cams cam shafts in it.Then it will be a lil faster.But i do not recommend boring the motor.

Do a search and you will find what you need. From what I've seen, some of the popular mods are: Get rid of the throttle stop; the gray wire rev limiter; open up the exhaust and Yamaha sells an air induction system removal kit for about $47.
